WASTAGE OF FOOD

Every drop of Water

Every grain of Rice

Can feed a thousand

In the vast Sahara Sands

Every single piece of food

Thrown in the bin

Does you no good

But earns you a sin!!

Think of the needy and poor

Starving all day

Before you throw

Or Waste any Food in any silly way

TOYS

When the night comes beckoning

And the sun bids farewell

The toys come to life

On their way down town

The party lights are turned on

And pop music sounds

As the dolls bring lemonade

And cake from the town

Every one clears up the tables

And sit down to eat

But sadly then the sun comes up

And the poor toys have to stay hungry

THERE IS NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT

A joy not yet felt

Lies deep in my heart

The fragrant flowers any heart can melt

Like a sweet juicy tart

Today isn’t a day

Just like any other

There is something special, the flora and fauna say

It is not just another common dawn

Yes today is not a day to waste

With futile postponement for the next

So let us make haste, to work for all we are worth

With our muscle flexed

There is no time like the present

So don’t waste this invaluable time

Lest it is eternally lost and spent

So that success bells chime

So don’t waste a single day

In lazy actions my friend

Lest in the future the prize to pay

Wont with its burden, make us bend!!

THE CREATOR, ALMIGHTY

Sunsets so rosy red

Skies so blue

Every hungry person I fed

Are him too

Roses of scarlet

Sunflowers of gold

Every fresh and clear rivulet

For centuries his glory has told

He is the sculptor that moulds us like dough

He is the foamy ocean waves

He is trees with their broad boughs

Kind hearted souls he always sees

He is the delicate tender blossoms

He is the good and cheerful times

In situations of need he always comes

I pray to him, to protect me from crimes.

SNOW

As an icy layer formed

On top of the pond

Small white icicles

Formed on my nose

I shivered as I saw

That a wet blanket of snow

Had covered the garden

Sparkling, pristine and slippery

I build a snowman

And little snow angels

I played till I froze

And reluctantly had to go in

I took a sip of hot cocoa

As I sat by the fire

And remembered the glorious evening

The evening I saw snow.

MY FAMILY

Oh dear mummy

You are so sweet

You are the only person

Whom I will do anything to meet

Oh dear daddy

You are so courageous and brave

Away from the cruel world

Me you protect and save

Oh dear granny

You are so old and wise

You always comfort me

When you hear my cries

Oh dear grandpa

You are so kind and strong

Whenever you go to the market

To buy my favourite fruits, You take me along

Oh dear brother

You are very cute and nice

But the awful thing is

You keep me awake with your cries

Oh dear Timmy

You are the most adorable dog I have seen in my life

You are faithful and obedient

I hope I have the best master been

SECOND THOUGHT

Spicy chutney too good to be true

But what if your stomach makes you turn blue

Cakes chocolates are all ready for tea

All as unhealthy as can be

Hot samosas on with tomato sauce

But not so delightful, if your tummy goes in for a toss

Ice creams and jellies look pleasing

But what if you can’t stop sneezing

Your tongue you please like a maid

But what if your health is in for a junk food raid

Put in a second thought

So that you shan’t be caught
